We host public star parties every Wednesday at our campus observatory of ten permanently mounted 10-14” telescopes on the roof of the L. S. Skaggs Applied Science Building (LSSB). This observatory is also used for our observational astronomy course.
This 32 inch telescope is located in Southwestern Utah at an elevation of 9000 feet, with extremely dark skies and generally excellent atmospheric conditions. We are currently revamping the control software of this telescope to enable reliable remote observing. This video is from a student visit there several years ago.

We discuss recent astronomy papers; while this discussion tends to be at the level of astronomy grad students, undergrad and first-year grad students are still very welcome. We use Benty Fields for the Astro Coffee discussions.
When the weather is warm, people usually leave from the 3rd floor of LSSB for the tables in the courtyard to have lunch together (people bring their own lunch).
